PLANETS AND CONTINENTS - ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW

Don't be surprised to see this post. I came up with it because I discovered that a lot of people don't really understand what planets and continents are. Many cannot differentiate between planets and continents.
So, when you ask them to tell you how many planets we have, they tell you the number of continents we have. I was very disappointed when i asked someone to define a continent and he became confused. Why? In fact, one of my juniors when i was still in High School messaged me yesterday requesting for clarity between these two terms. I was very busy attending to my clients so i told him to check on my blog today, i will post it. Therefore, this post was essentially written to educate those who do not know and probably keep those who already have the knowledge updated. As you know that at GistFreeNG, we take education very serious. Anyway, let's navigate back to our topic - planets and continents.
.
PLANET: A planet is a celestial body moving in an eliptical orbit around a star. In the traditional model of solar systems, a planet is a celestial body larger than an asteroid or comet, illuminated by light from a star, such as the sun around which it revolves. In a simple form, say, a planet is a large round object in space, (such as the) that travels around the star(such as the sun).
The international Astronomical Union (IAU) defined a planet as an object that orbits the sun, has sufficient mass to be round, is not a satelite (moon) of another object, has removed debris and small objects from the area around it's orbits. .

IMPORTANT NOTE :  The order of the planets given above is based on the planets' average distances from the Sun. Pluto was reassigned as a dwarf planet in 2006.
CONTINENT :
A continent is understood to be large, continous, discrete masses of land, ideally seperated by expanses of water. Or simply put, a continent is very large area of land sorrounded by water.
